I think I have to stop following the Occupy / OWS tags because while I support what’s going on, there’s nothing more infuriating than coming across those posts that criticize the movement with the same misinformed myths the media are using, making it very obvious that the post-maker doesn’t quite ‘get it.’

Why should I be able to say I ‘get it?’ It kind of helps that I went down to my city’s Occupy movement and simply asked. Socialist redistribution of wealth? Myth. Dirty, unemployed, and hedonistic hippies? Myth. Privileged and entitled youth? Myth.

I just wish that before people condemned the movement that they’d do their homework.

I do have some problems with the movement, though. I think the spirit fingers thing used to convey agreement is embarrassingly silly. Otherwise, hold the line, Occupiers.
